Today is the start of the Christmas Countdown over at Organized Christmas. They have an easy to follow plan with lots of great down- loadable documents for free. I have incorporated a lot of their ideas into my own Christmas organization. Check it out and let me know what you think!

85 Days to go: Christmas Cards
Today is October 1st. This is traditionally the day that I start signing and addressing my Christmas Cards and this year is no exception. I have decided to streamline the process this year by using address and return address labels. I'm also contemplating cutting down my card list which is really hard for me to do.
I love to send Christmas Cards! But I also like to receive them and at some point I need to be honest about the names on my list that probably really don't give us a second thought except at Christmas when they get our card. Maybe they no longer want to hear about our family. Maybe it's a piece of clutter in their mailbox. Hey! I understand, life moves on. Especially when a move across the country years ago has separated our everyday worlds. But it's still difficult for me to cut names from my list.
I using homemade cards this year. I try to alternate between homemade and store-bought every other year. I'm really tired of looking at these homemade cards that have been in the box for close to two years now. I'm secretly hoping to use up my entire Christmas Card stash so I can start fresh next year. Sometimes you just have to let go to get the creative juices flowing!
How about you? Do you still send cards? Do you like to receive cards? Got any great tips for using the cards that come in the mail every year? This year I'm going to use a tip I saw on Pinterest. As the cards arrive, I'm going to hole-punch them and insert rings and have them as a little "book" for everyone in the family to enjoy. Only 85 days to go... let's get busy!
