I traditionally write our annual Christmas letter on November 1st. When the kids were still at home it was easy to write with all of their activities, sports, and accomplishments. Now it's not so easy. I include a paragraph on each kid's family. I try to not focus too much attention on the grandkids. I don't want any of my kids to accuse me of favoritism!
I try to keep my letter short and upbeat. I don't like getting letters that go on and on about everybody's health issues. I normally include a photo of each kid's family and one of Dan and I. Sometimes I put photos of the pets in there.
This year is short and sweet. I put a photo of all of us adults at Katie's wedding. And I put a photo of Dan and I with the grandkids. A short paragraph on each family and I'm done.
I haven't purchased any fancy stationery to print it on. I may or I may not. I will print them the day after Thanksgiving. Stuff my Christmas cards with them and have them in the mail by December 7th at the latest.
I do have one regret about my annual letters. I have never kept copies of them. I don't know why because that is totally something you would think I would do. Now I wish I had them to go back and read. Oh well. Too late to start now.
Another Christmas activity that can be checked off my list. Now I'm on to decorating...
